Park Doesn’t Matter

Kenta Maeda pitched like Coors was in San Diego. He pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, no hits until the sixth. A.J. Ellis talks about the performance:

”But first time pitching at Coors Field, first time against that offensive firepower they have over there, I can’t say enough what Kenta was able to do. It’s beyond impressive.”

Maeda moved a bit closer to Jake Arrieta in Cy Young Tracker points, but at the moment lacks the innings to be on top of the majors. At the moment, he combines a high strikeout rate with the ability to induce poor contact. Only 15.6% of balls in play against him were listed as line drives.

The Dodgers beat the Rockies 4-1.
