The Brewers and Cubs played a double header on Tuesday, the Cubs holding the Brewers scoreless for 17 innings before Milwaukee scored a single run in the ninth inning of game two. Cubs starters, including Trevor Cahill, making his first start, pitched 12 scoreless innings. That seems to be the norm for the Cubs in August, as the starting staff owns a 1.12 ERA for the month so far. In six of their 14 starts, they allowed no runs, and in a seventh, just one unearned run. As a group, they’ve walked 18 and struck out 83 in 96 2/3 innings. Wow.
