Outfield Range

Tom Tango uses StatCast data to show how a small subset of the balls in play define a rightfielder’s range. This was the kind of thing that we couldn’t do with the probabilistic model of range (PMR). Good positioning counted as good range. This separates the ability to move to the ball from the ability to stand where the ball is hit.
