Games of the Day

The Mets and Reds get the day started with Noah Syndergaard and the Mets facing Anthony DeSclafani and the Reds. Syndergaard’s ERA was 2.56 before the All-Star break, and 2.56 after the break. His walk rate in the second half is about twice that of the first half, but so far it hasn’t hurt his ERA. DeSclafani improved his ERA by over a run compared to 2015. He’s holding opponents to a .212/.267/.242 slash with runners in scoring position.

Houston is two games out of the second wild card as they try to take three in a row from Cleveland. Doug Fister takes on Carlos Carrasco. Fister has a huge platoon split, lefties hitting .302/.359/.535 against him, righties .214/.276/.307. Carrasco showed outstanding control this season with 143 K and 32 BB in 135 1/3 innings.

Enjoy!
