I have no desire to see pitchers in the home run derby. If they could really hit that well, they would be hitters, since they are likely to have a longer and richer career.
The home run derby is getting boring. Reduce it to an hour. Offer a $500,000 prize to the winner. One year, have a pitchers only round. But let’s not think because Madison Bumgarner hit 13 home runs in his career that he can actually slug. That’s just noise in a small sample.
