Solo Performances

The Giants beat the Red Sox 2-1 Tuesday night, David Price and Madison Bumgarner each pitching well, and the Giants bullpen pitching even better. All three runs scored on solo home runs, the Giants getting belts from Brandon Belt and Mac Williamson, while Chris Young went deep for Boston. Belt is now slugging .505 on the season.

Price won many of his starts this season despite a high ERA. One of the few times he pitches well, he loses due to the Red Sox offense going cold. Things do have a way balancing.

The Giants bullpen pitched three innings, allowing one hit and striking out five. They’ve been good, but not lights out this season, so that was a great outing against a very good offense.
