The First Will Be First

The Brewers jump out to a 4-0 lead over the Orioles after one inning. Milwaukee sent nine men to the plate, scoring on four singles and two walks. They came into the game with a an impressive .307/.381/.551 slash line in the first inning, and did nothing to hurt those numbers. They do not come close in any other inning, although their next best inning is the fourth. It would appear that the top of the Brewers lineup is well optimized for scoring. There is quite a fall-off after the fifth position in the batting order (see link above).
