Random Player Report

The Random Evil Player program select Adam Warren for the next report. Warren worked mostly as a reliever for the Yankees in his six seasons in the majors. His brief hiatus from New York came in the trade for Starlin Castro. Later, he was returned to the Yankees in the Aroldis Chapman deal.

Warren appears to work best as a pure reliever. His two seasons with sub 3.00 ERAs came in 2014 and 2017, both seasons with no starts. Those were also two seasons with his strikeout rate about 8.0 per nine innings and his walk rate below 3.0 per nine innings. Even with a good but not great K rate of 7.7 batters per nine innings for his career, he is hard to hit. Opponents hold a .235/.302/.367 slash line against Warren. He gives the Yankees an excellent middle inning reliever.
