Alex Rodriguez will retire when his contract is up at the end of the 2017 season. I suspect his career would be over then anyway.
He needs 75 home runs to catch Barry Bonds. He ran out of steam at the end of 2015, hitting 33 home runs for the year, but only two in August as he ran out of a bit of steam in the summer. He hit seven more in September, but the nine homers over the last two month was about all he did in that time frame. If he has built some stamina after playing a full year again, 75 more homers may not be out of the question. He only needs 68 to catch Hank Aaron and really piss off Bud Selig.
