Big Bullpen, Big Win

The Yankees showed last night that a team can trade away elite relievers and still win. The bullpen pitched seven no-hit innings against the Royals as the Yankees came back from an early 4-0 deficit to win the game 5-4 in 13 innings. Yankees relievers walked three and struck out four, but the New York defense managed to turn all the balls in play into outs.

It was a huge win for the Yankees, as they gain a game on the Royals in the series, and now lead KC by 1/2 game in the wild card race. There are now four teams ahead of them instead of five, and they have plenty of games left against Baltimore, Boston, and Toronto. It’s going to be much more fun in the Bronx than anyone imagined a month ago.
