Games of the Day

The Red Sox travel down the I-95 corridor to Baltimore as Rick Porcello takes on Dylan Bundy. The Red Sox lead the Orioles by three games as the teams start a four-game series. Porcello goes for his 21st win. In 14 innings against the Orioles this season, Procello has not walked a batter, but he did allow four home runs. Bundy pitched well in Baltimore this season, posting a 2.72 ERA at Camden Yards versus 5.21 on the road. He allows home runs and walks at a much lower rate in Baltimore.

The Blue Jays start a big wild card series in Seattle as Marco Estrada faces Taijuan Walker. Seattle is tied with Detroit, two games behind the Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card race as the teams start a three game series. It was recently reported that Estrada pitched the year with a herniated disc in his back. That’s probably the big reason for his jump in ERA. Walker has only walked 26 batters in 117 2/3 innings this season.

Finally, the Giants try to make a run at the Dodgers and the NL West title as Madison Bumgarner battles Clayton Kershaw. This will be the tenth time these two faced each other in the regular season. In the nine starts, Kershaw is 3-4 with a 2.18 ERA, Bumgarner 4-3 with a 2.88 ERA. The Giants need to close a five-game gap with the Dodgers, and the teams play six times in the last two weeks, including the final series of the season.

Enjoy!
