With Indians runners on second and third and one out, Mike Napoli lifts a high fly ball to deep leftfield down the line. Justin Upton looks like he gets under it, but he never saw the ball, and it bounces behind him and into the stands for a ground rule double. If the ball had bounced in front of him, it might have been a good play, since only one runner scores. But with the ball going over the fence, the Indians get an early 2-0 lead against the Tigers, in a game the Tigers can’t really afford to lose.
