Offense is down compared to the first week of 2016. So far, the 2017 season produced 8.65 runs per game, while 2016 at the same point produced 8.86 runs per game. Walks are up about 0.5 per game, while home runs are down a smidgen. Other hits are down about 0.4 per game, so it appears the league is trading hits for walks. I thought it would be worse.
