The Mets beat the Marlins 5-2 Sunday night behind a second strong outing from Noah Syndergaard. If there is such a thing as a perfect season for a pitcher, Synderaard is currently on a path to that. In terms of three-true outcomes, one cannot get much better than sixteen strikeouts in 13 innings with no home runs and no walks allowed. He allowed two runs, one earned, and sports a 0.69 ERA at the moment. Clayton Kershaw is the current long-term star at keeping his Ks high, and his walks and home runs low. We’ll see if Syndergaard manages to challenge him in this regard as the season progresses.
