Rare Rockies Win

The Colorado Rockies snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Giants in San Francisco. German Marquez pitched a brilliant game, allowing two base runners on a HBP and an single, while striking out nine. Marquez carried the no-hitter into the eighth inning.

The starting pitching was extremely bad during the streak, as the Rockies rotation posted a 7.78 ERA. It was a three-true outcome disaster, with the starters striking out batters at a low rate while allowing walks and home runs at a high rate. Because of that, the team lost three games in which they scored six runs. On the other hand, the offense scored two runs or less five times. Today, the offense and defense were in sync.
