Sale Lowers His ERA

Chris Sale allowed four runs, all earned in five innings of work against the Yankees. That lowered his ERA to 8.50 as New York wins 8-0 against Boston. In terms of three-true outcomes, Sale pitched well, giving up one walk and a solo home run while striking out six. The Yankees, however, picked up six hits on the 13 ball put in play against Sale, so his ability to strike out batters is not matching an ability to limit barrels.

James Paxton appeared to fix his problems as he struck out 12 and walked one in eight innings. He allowed six walks in 15 innings coming into the game.
