Jon Lester passes his teammate Kyle Hendricks in the Tom Tango Cy Young Tracker points race. Lester pitched eight shutout innings for against the Cardinals, walking one and striking out eight for the win. That ties him with teammate Jake Arrieta for most wins in the NL at 17, and puts him 0.2 points ahead of Hendricks in the Cy Young race. Madison Bumgarner had a meh outing, and didn’t move up past Max Scherzer. Bumgarner’s lack-luster finish as the Giants push for the playoffs may wind up hurting him in the voting at the end of the season.
