Games of the Day

The Nationals and Mets meet in New York as Patrick Corbin faces Steven Matz. Corbin pitched poorly at Citi Field in his career, 1-3 with a 5.20 ERA in five starts. He allowed six home runs in 27 2/3 innings. Matz owns similar numbers against the Nationals at home, 0-4 in five starts with sevent home runs allowed in 31 1/3 innings.

Michael Pineda continues his comeback against the hot hitting Phillies. Jake Arrieta stands in opposition. The Twins limited Pineda to four innings in his first game back from Tommy John surgery, but Pineda struck out five and walked just one, not allowing a run. Arrieta failed to show control in his first start, walking six in six innings. He only allowed three hits, however, and just one run.

San Diego sends another of their rookie stars to the mound as Chris Paddack faces the Cardinals and Michael Wacha. Paddack walked one and struck out seven in his MLB debut allowing just two hits. Wacha pitched well against the Padres in his career, posting a 2.32 ERA in five starts.

Enjoy!
