Games of the Day

The second game of the series in Boston features a better pitching match-up as Dylan Bundy leads the Orioles against Drew Pomeranz. In his rookie year, Bundy struck out 92 and and walked 35 in 94 1/3 innings. He got knocked around by the Red Sox this season, however, allowing three home runs in 9 2/3 innings covering four appearances. Pomeranz settled in after a rough start with Boston, posting a 2.76 ERA in his last seven starts. He struck out 44 in 42 1/3 innings in that timeframe.

The Padres try to slow the Giants push to the playoffs as Clayton Richard faces Albert Suarez. After pitching poorly for the Cubs, Richard found his groove in San Diego. He allowed runners to get on base, but strands them there with a .148/.233/.185 slash line with runners in scoring position, helping him to a 1.15 ERA with San Diego. Suarez pitches better at home in his rookie season, giving up just two of his nine home runs.

Enjoy!
