Big Wins

The Indians beat the Tigers 11-0, extending Cleveland’s win streak to 19 games. They have scored 10 runs or more in six of those wins, and shutouts in six of those wins. The intersection of those two are games of 12-0, 11-0, and 10-0. They are simply killing their opponents.

Joe Posnanski writes that this is the greatest streak of all time:

OK, that’s just ridiculous — a .955 OPS for the whole team? Jeff Bagwell‘s career OPS was .948. Frank Robinson‘s was .926. Entire teams do not have .955 OPS for any extended stretch of time, much less three weeks.

But here’s the craziest part of all: The pitching has been even better.

Monday’s win did nothing to change that.
