Derby Analysis

StatCast looks at the Home Run Derby:

There were 18 homers of at least 480 feet, more than the 16 that players have hit in games since Statcast™ was introduced in 2015. There were 47 big flies of at least 450 feet, and more than 80 percent of the dingers on the night reached the 400-foot mark.

I was under the impression that the balls used in the HRD were a bit juiced for a better show. I would think that connecting with a high-speed fastball in a game would cause the ball to travel further than off a batting practice pitch.
