Games of the Day

The Yankees trail the Red Sox by 3 1/2 games as they start a four-game series in Boston. Jordan Montgomery faces Drew Pomeranz. Montgomery demonstrated both power and control this, his rookie year, striking out 87 and walking 28 in 91 1/3 innings. This will be his first foray into the rivalry. Pomeranz made five good starts in a row going into the break, allowing just one home run in his last 29 2/3 innings. He allowed 11 on the season.

The Twins are still in the fight for the AL Central title as they take on the league best Astros. Jose Berrios takes on Charlie Morton. Berrios holds opponents to a .221/.289/.365 slash line, with only 19 or the 58 hits against him going for extra bases. Morton makes his second start since his disabled list stint. He allowed one run in six innings against Toronto in his return.

Enjoy!
