Pirates rookie Josh Bell hits a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to break a 2-2 tie with the Cardinals and give Pittsburgh a good win for the second half. For Bell, it was his 17 home run of the season. He is not hitting for a high batting average, but he is pounding the ball when he does get hits. Thirty six of his 74 hits have gone for extra bases.
