Turner Soon on Top

Justin Turner went two for three Sunday afternoon in the Dodgers game at the Marlins. He homered, singled, walked drove in two runs and scored one as Los Angeles takes the game 3-2. That gives him 286 plate appearances. Since the Dodgers played 93 games, he needs 288 PA to qualify for the batting title. He should meet the 3.1 PA per game in the next game or two, at which point his .374 BA would qualify for the batting title. Currently, Daniel Murphy leads the NL. He went three for four today to raise his BA to .348. It should be a fun battle of the ex-Mets down the stretch for the NL batting title.
