Garrett Richards returns from the disabled list to make his second start of the season as the Angels face Oakland and Kendall Graveman. Richards had a short rehab stint in which he allowed five hits in two innings, but did not allow a run. Graveman is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA at home in seven starts, thanks to just 10 walks in 43 1/3 innings.
Justin Verlander makes his Astros debut against Ariel Miranda and the Mariners. Verlander does not have that much success pitching in Seattle for his career. He owns a 5-5 record with a 3.95 ERA. His three-true outcomes are very good there, but allowed 82 hits in 82 innings. Miranda gives up a ton of home runs, 35 in 150 1/3 innings. Fifteen of those came since the All-Star break in just 46 1/3 innings.
Finally, Zack Greinke takes on his old team one more time as the Diamondbacks face the Dodgers and Hyun-Jin Ryu. Greinke’s 16-6 record owes little to his work on the road where he is 3-5 with a 4.28 ERA. Ryu allowed fifteen of his 19 home runs with the bases empty.
Enjoy!
