Crashed Davis

Chris Davis went 0 for 4 with four strikeouts in the Orioles 4-1 loss to the Red Sox Sunday afternoon. Davis now owns a .158/.242/.299 slash line on the season. At what point does the team cut their losses? Davis hit poorly in 2014, but bounced back in 2015 which won him his current seven-year, $161 million contact. He declined every year since. At seasonal age 32, he is unlikely to bounce back to his prime form.

Maybe he can pull a Justin Verlander and retrain his body to overcome the scars built up by a lifetime of play. Maybe another team will take a chance on him; I was amazed how many times Vernon Wells was traded. This season is just off the charts bad. I have to suspect that anyone in the minor league has to be better than this, and if the Orioles want to get to 50 wins, they should bring a player up sooner than later.
