Chacin forces poor contact, allowing just 122 hits in 151 innings. He is throwing more sliders and introduced a split-finger fastball this season.
Justin Verlander leads the Astros against the Angels and Jaime Barria. Verlander dominated the Angels this season, 3-0 in three starts with an 0.82 ERA. He struck out 27 and walked three in 22 innings. Barria is having a hot August, posting a 2.18 ERA in the month. He kept the ball in the park, with only one of his 15 home runs allowing coming in August.
