Games of the Day

A late lunch break allows you to watch the Rays at the Yankees as Blake Snell takes on Masahiro Tanaka. After going 11-15 his first two seasons, Snell is 13-5 in 2018. His ERA is nearly two runs lower than last season in about the same number of innings, as he improved all three-true outcome rates. His much higher strikeout rate led to 30 fewer hits allowed. Tanaka pitched poorly his last time out, but otherwise improved since returning from the disabled list.

Arizona send Clay Buchholz against Jacob Nix of the Padres in the late game. Buchholz is a candidate for comeback player of the year, 5-2 with a 2.67 ERA. His whole career is okay performances punctuated by greatness. Nix makes his second MLB start, and so far so good as he has not allowed a run in his first six innings.

Enjoy!
