The top five in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings don’t change much as four of the five have the day off. Matt Carpenter draws two walks in five plate appearances as he trails Mike Trout, with J.D. Martinez, Jose Ramirez, and Mookie Betts rounding out the top five. Two points separate the top five players.
Note that Bryce Harper continues his push to the top, now ranking seventh. His hot streak has not helped the Nationals all that much, however, as they are eight games out in the NL East and 6 1/2 games out of the NL Wild Card.
