Washington goes for a sweep of the Phillies in D.C. as Aaron Nola faces Max Scherzer. Nola owns a 2.44 ERA thanks in part to just eight home runs allowed in 161 innings. Scherzer’s 2.11 ERA comes in part from his 234 K in 174 2/3 innings.
Madison Bumgarner battles Jacob deGrom as the Giants and Mets play another early game. Bumgarner ran into trouble on the road this season, with a 4.70 ERA in seven starts. Six of his eight home runs came away. deGrom combines the best of Nola and Scherzer to achieve his 1.71 ERA. The Mets starter allowed eight home runs in 168 innings while striking out 204.
