Massive Tie Scenario

The Massive Tie Scenario in the Wild West race took a bit of a hit Wednesday night as the Rockies won while the Dodgers and Cardinals lost. That means the Rockies and Dodgers have one more win going into the weekend than the Cardinals. The Rockies play their game-in-hand today, so they could make that win lead two. In other words, both the Dodgers and Cardinals are down in the AFILC, and the two teams have to hope the Rockies make up the loss, not the win, today.

The current probability of a three-way tie drops to 0.0534, with the most likely win total for a tie dropping to 89 wins. That means the Rockies go 1-3, the Dodgers 1-2, and the Cardinals 2-1. We will know fairly early how the weekend looks. The Phillies send Jake Arrieta against Antonio Senzatela at 3:10 EDT. A Rockies loss will provide the best chance of a massive tie.
