Luis Severino goes for this 19th win as the Yankees face the Rays and Jake Faria. The Yankees magic number to take home field in the wild card game is four, as the Yankees hold the intra-division tiebreaker, although that could change.
Milwaukee send Gio Gonzalez against the Cardinals and Austin Gomber as the Brewers simultaneously try to hold off St. Louis and catch the Cubs. Gonzalez is 2-0 with a 1.65 ERA since joining Milwaukee. Gomber is 6-1 in his rookie season with the Cardinals, allowing four home runs in 69 1/3 innings.
Vince Velasquez takes on Chad Bettis in Colorado, and given the ERAs of the two pitchers, this could be a slugfest.
The Dodgers need to keep winning to win the West, and Walker Buehler takes on Matt Koch in Arizona toward that end. Koch makes hitters smile as he allowed 18 home runs in 82 1/3 innings.
