The Braves can clinch the NL East with a win over the Phillies in a 1 PM EDT game on Fox. Jake Arrieta takes on Mike Foltynewicz. Arrieta turned out to be less of an ace than the Phillies hoped for as his strikeout rate declined and his ERA rose. Foltynewicz improved all three of his three-true outcome rates and lowered his ERA nearly two runs.
The other Fox game pits the Giants against the Cardinals with Dereck Rodriguez facing Adam Wainwright. Rodriguez needs to add another R to Dereck to make it the longest possible spelling of the name. His 2.30 ERA is best among rookies with at least 100 IP. Wainwright has been wild this injury filled season with 17 walks in 29 innings.
Finally, Colorado keeps trying to push for a playoff berth as they send Antonio Senzatela against the Diamondbacks and Patrick Corbin. The Diamondbacks collected 15 hits and 10 runs against Senzatela this season, two starts and one relief appearance. Corbin made three start against Colorado this season, striking out 21 in 16 1/3 innings. He did allow three home runs, however, for a 3.86 ERA.
