The King Lear Season

As you read or watch Shakespeare’s Tragedy of King Lear, you get to a point where you think that nothing can get worse for Lear, and then it gets worse. This is the Orioles season. The came into the day with 111 losses, having to play a day-night double header after a rain out. In the day half, the Red Sox pound them for a 19-3 victory. Of their 22 hits, the Red Sox collected nine doubles and five home runs. I’m not sure the Red Sox meant to pour it on, but I also suspect the pitches were so phat that they couldn’t help themselves. It seems like a fitting game for a terrible Orioles season.
