Bruce Back

The Reds beat the Phillies 10-6 as the Reds sweep the three-game series. Jay Bruce hit two home runs, and the revival of his bat early in this season stands as a good sign for the Reds. Bruce plays 2016 at seasonal age 29, reaching the end of this prime years. He comes off his worst two seasons, unusual for a player at ages 27 and 28. The fall was very much batting average based, as his power, especially in 2015, was fine. He’s six for 12 after picking up three hits in this latest game. So far, his hits are finding the stands or holes. He would give the Reds a second big bat to go along with Joey Votto, and make the Reds more menacing.
