Double Domingo

Domingo Santana of the Brewers goes 4 for 5 with two doubles to help the Brewers blow out the Cubs 11-2 Thursday afternoon. Santana plays 2017 as a 24-year-old, and in general put up good numbers in part time duty during his career. He projected as the Brewers number five hitter this season, but is playing well beyond his .340/.440 Marcel projections for OBP and slugging percentage. He’s done really well in the two slot. With the high OBP, he’s batting second and delivering. He has now scored 52 runs and drove in 47, a good mix for any hitter.

He’s helping look a litte bit prescient:

This was a good job by Counsell. The fifth best lineup with the better Thames numbers looks a lot like the projected lineup. The LAT likes Jonathan Villar, and Domingo Santana batting behind Thames. The Brewers might be ready to surprise some opposing pitching staffs.

They continue to score early with the best hitters bunched at the top of the order.
