On a 1-2 count in the first inning, German Marquez hits Kris Bryant in the head with a 96 MPH fast ball. Bryant walks a few feet away, but after standing there for a minute with support, he needs to be helped off the field (walked off, a body on each side). I suspect Bryant will at least go on the seven day concussion disabled list.
I did not see any blood. The ball hit the brim of his helmet and spun the helmet around a couple of times. Ouch.
Update: The Cubs follow with four straight hits and lead the Rockies 3-0 in the bottom of the first.
