Triple Crown Watch

It was a bad day on Sunday for J.D. Martinez‘s probability of winning a triple crown. He did not play, while Khris Davis hit a grand slam. Mookie Betts did leave the Red Sox game with an injury after going 0 for 2. Martinez’s probability of winning the batting title is now 0.13, his probability of at least tying for the home run title is down to 0.19, and the RBI simulator drops his probability of at least tying there to 0.93. The conservative estimate is an overall probability of 0.023. The RBI/HR simulator gives him a 0.25 probability of at least tying for both, for an overall probability of 0.033. Martinez will need some big games against the Yankees to increase his chances of completing the feat.
