The Cardinals beat the Braves 8-1 while the Dodgers defeated the Rockies 3-2 in ten innings Tuesday night on a Chris Taylor walk-off home run. That lowers the probability of a three-way tie to 0.027. A win tonight by the Rockies would help a great deal. That and a Cardinals loss would put the teams in a very good position for the last week and a half of the season. The Rockies still have a game in hand.
The Dodgers would get home field advantage in a one-game playoff for the NL West, the Cardinals have home field advantage against both teams if a playoff is needed for the second wild card.
