No Pond Hopping

MLB failed to get the work done to play games in London in 2017. The failure appears to be for a good reason, however:

Dan Halem, MLB’s chief legal officer, said that ongoing collective bargaining negotiations and next spring’s World Baseball Classic kept the league from pursuing a London series for next year.

”We did not have enough time to work out all the details to play in London in 2017,” Halem said. ”We continue to discuss international play with the union, including playing games in London.”

Settling the CBA is a much more important objective, especially since there is an international tournament next year anyway. It might be a good idea to promote the WBC heavily in England, so that when MLB does play there, they have a ready audience.
