Twins Turnaround

The Twins beat a very good Texas Rangers team 15-5 on Sunday afternoon. The go into the All-Star break leading the majors in runs scored per game in July, scoring 78 runs in 10 games, 7.8 runs per game. The impressive thing is that through the end of June, the Twins were last in the AL in scoring at 4.06 runs per game, and only three NL teams scored at a lower rate. Pretty much everything is better, more hits, more walks, more extra bases. Unfortunately, they dug a big hole, 17.5 games out of the wild card, and 20 games out of the division. A good second half, however, may demonstrate that 2015 was not a fluke, and would influence how the team is rearranged both at the trade deadline and over the winter.
