Extreme Monday

The result of every game Monday night was either close or a blow out. Seven of the 13 games were decide by two runs or less, three of those won in the last at bat. The winning team held the opposition to one run or less in four of the six blowouts.

In terms of closeness scores, the games ran from 0.44, the Reds 2-1 win over the Cardinals, scoreless for the first five innings, to 6.28, the 15-3 Oakland win over Texas. The least close close game was Boston at Baltimore at 2.72. The Red Sox took an early lead, and Baltimore fought back late, 2.72. The closest blowout was Washington at Milwaukee, a close game until the sixth inning, 2.29. The Yankees and Rays combined for the most entertaining game, close and high scoring. The Rays win 7-6, with a closeness score of 0.82.
