Three Diseases in One!

I thought this might be a joke when I saw the alert on my phone:

Noah Syndergaard’s visit to a youth clinic Thursday is likely responsible for the latest wacky medical issue to hit the Mets.

The right-hander was placed on the disabled list Sunday with “hand, foot and mouth disease,” according to assistant general manager John Ricco, and will be replaced in the rotation by Corey Oswalt.

Syndergaard’s contraction of the virus may explain his sluggish performance against the Yankees on Friday in which he was removed after five innings with his fastball dipping into the low 90s.

Here’s an explanation of the disease. It seems Mets players can’t even do something nice without landing on the disabled list. The Mets don’t expect this to hurt a possible Syndergaard trade, since this is a minor illness.
