The Nationals and Mets continue their series with Stephen Strasburg facing Noah Syndergaard. Strasburg returned from the disabled list to pitch 6 2/3 innings without allowing a hit, although he did walk four batters. He owns a 2.71 ERA and a .208 batting average allowed. He will try to keep his undefeated record intact. Syndergaard shows no sign of a sophomore slump. He reduced both his walk and home run rates to lower his ERA over 0.8 runs. He is 5-1 with a 2.02 ERA at home.
Matt Wisler tries to prevent Chris Sale from winning his 15th game as the Braves play the White Sox. Like Syndergaard, Wisler improved his three-true outcomes compare to his rookie year. With poor offensive support, his better ERA did not improve his record. Sale makes his 18th start, receiving decisions in all but one game. If he can keep that up for his final 16 starts, he might come very close to 30 wins.
Enjoy!
