Weekly look at Offense

After 24 weeks of the season, the majors produced 9.33 runs per game compared with 8.99 runs per game through 24 weeks of 2016. For the past week, 2017 came in at 8.98 runs per game, very close to the run levels of week 24 over the past two seasons.

The song remains the same for the 2017 season compare to 2016. Offense consists of many more home runs, walks, and strikeouts. The big strikeout numbers lead to fewer other hits, but overall batter reach base more. It is a fairly extreme three-true outcome game, and we will see if MLB tries to implement rule changes to modify that.
