Games of the Day

The Red Sox go for their 11th straight win as the Blue Jays send Ryan Borucki against Rick Porcello at Fenway. Borucki makes his fourth MLB start and so far posted decent three-true outcomes; no home runs, six walks, and 16 strikeouts in 20 innings. He’s been tough with men in scoring position so far, allowing a .176 BA. The Red Sox will test that situation. Porcello, with 11 victories, already equaled his win total of last season. He is stingy with the free passes, walking just 27 batters in 118 innings.

Two teams 1/2 games back in their division battle in Atlanta as the Diamondbacks send Zack Godley against a rejuvenated Anibal Sanchez. Godley owns a 5-2 record since the start of June despite a 5.50 ERA. Two poor starts account for most of the ERA, plus not going deep in games when he pitches well. The Diamondbacks scored 41 runs in his seven starts. Sanchez owns a 2.10 ERA at home this season, where he allowed 17 hits and seven walks in 25 2/3 innings.

Finally, the surging Oakland Athletics travel across the bay to take on the Giants, veterans Edwin Jackson and Madison Bumgarner on the mound. Jackson made three starts so far, given an injury riddled rotation a respite. He posted a 2.45 ERA, holding opponents to a .236 OBP so far. Bumgarner also got a late start to the season. He remain extremely effective at home, with a 2.05 ERA in 26 1/3 innings, allowing just one of his four home runs there.

Enjoy!
