Zack Greinke goes on the disabled list with an oblique strain:
The Diamondbacks ace left Tuesday night’s game against Philadelphia after two innings. The injury came after Greinke hit a sacrifice fly.
So if he’s not batting in that game, he still may be pitching. This was my big worry when Madison Bumgarner batted in an American League park. If he gets hurt at the plate in that situation, the Giants look like fools. When pitchers bat, their already high risk for injury goes up. Greinke is a good hitter, but not so good as to avoid an oblique strain. Those tend to keep players out a long time, since they retard the ability to rotate the torso.
