Dodgers Keep Falling

The Dodgers put Cody Bellinger on the disabled list:

Bellinger injured the ankle while jumping to catch a ball near the warning track at Comerica Park in Detroit. The team initially described the injury as “mild,” but Bellinger’s ankle remained swollen through the weekend.

With Bellinger out, Adrian Gonzalez remains in the lineup at first base. Bellinger had shifted to the outfield to make room for Gonzalez’s return Friday from the DL. He appeared in right field on only four occasions before the injury.

At this point, I’d rather have Bellinger healthy and Gonzalez on the bench.

Alex Wood joins Bellinger on the DL with shoulder inflammation, which explains his poor outing. It’s the second time on the DL for Wood this season.
