Gio Gonzalez just finished five innings against the Angels without allowing a hit. Max Scherzer seems to be rubbing off on Gonzalez. He walked two and struck out three so far, throwing 67 pitches. He’s not throwing that high a percentage of strikes, so this might be an example of effectively wild.
The Nationals lead the Angels 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth.
Update: Howie Kendrick just hit his second home run of the game to make the score 2-0.
