Giancarlo Stanton hit home runs in his first two plate appearances Friday evening to bring his total for the month of August to 16 and his season total to 49. He’s now one home run away from tying the NL record for home runs in August, and two away from Rudy York‘s all-time record of 18. It’s the 80th anniversary of York setting the record.
